Disney has shared a sneak peek at some major projects on the horizon for the Disneyland Resort, and the future looks incredible! From new infrastructure to beloved movie-inspired attractions, here’s a look at what’s coming in the years ahead.
🚗 New Parking Structure & Transportation Hub
A brand-new parking structure and transportation hub is planned for the east side of Disneyland Resort, on a portion of the current Manchester cast member parking lot.
This massive project will add approximately 6,000 new parking spaces, along with shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening, and improved traffic flow with direct access from Disney Way.
One of the most exciting features will be a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, leading to a reimagined esplanade arrival experience. This bridge will also provide easier public access to and from Harbor Boulevard.
Construction on this multi-year project is scheduled to begin in fall 2026.
🎶 A New Coco Attraction
Disney California Adventure will soon feature an all-new attraction inspired by Pixar’s Coco!
This ride will be built near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in areas that are currently backstage. Construction is expected to begin later this year, and it’s sure to bring the music, colors, and spirit of Coco to life in a beautiful way.
🌌 Avatar Experience at Disney California Adventure
Another major project in the works: a new Avatar-themed experience will take over part of the current Hollywood Backlot area at Disney California Adventure.
While still in the early stages, this expansion is expected to bring Pandora’s world of floating mountains and bioluminescent wonder to California.
To make way for this new destination, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026.
🦸 Avengers Campus Expansion
Disney has also confirmed plans for two all-new attractions that will double the size of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. While details are still limited, this expansion is set to be a huge step forward in immersing guests into the Marvel universe.
